ROSH HASHANAH SEDER

Erev Rosh Hashanah was brilliant! I played with my friends and did some colouring with Isaac who
was on the same table as me. I ate lots of special foods. My favourite was the apple and honey
because it means we want a sweet new year. I also had dates because they mean we hope all the
bad things will end. There were pumpkin seeds too, and I tried pomegranate, which has lots of seeds
and means we want lots of good things to happen. I ate carrots because they mean more blessings.
We also had a round challah, which was yummy.

The best part was blowing the shofar. Rabbi Anna showed me how to do it. First, I did one long
sound called tekiah, then three short ones called shevarim, and then lots of really quick sounds
called teruah. At the end, I did one super long sound called tekiah gedolah. I really want to be the
shofar blower for the community one day. I also got a hug from Joan!

I can’t wait for Rosh Hashanah next year.
