One of community member’s thoughts on this year’s Purim Party
This year’s Purim party was a memorable celebration, filled with joy, laughter and an overwhelming
sense of community. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the festive energy in the air, with most members dressed in their creative costumes and ready to celebrate. The vibrant atmosphere was infectious, as people gathered to enjoy the music, poems and celebrations that Purim can bring.
There is something magical about how everyone comes together sharing in the fun and merriment of the holiday. However, what truly made the experience unforgettable was the delicious choice of festival foods that followed the celebration. The tables were filled with an abundance of treats, each one more tempting than the last. From the sweet golden hamantaschen pastries to their savoury versions, every dish was a reminder of the rich traditions and customs associated with the holiday and I couldn’t help but indulge in every bite.
Sharing this delicious food with friends and community members made the experience even more special. It was also a time to reflect on the meaning of Purim, while enjoying the fun of the celebration, savouring the taste and the company.
All in all, the Purim party was an unforgettable experience. It was a day of celebration, connection and of course, delicious food that I will cherish for months to come.

A young community member’s note on this year’s Purim Party
It was fun because I learnt that everything had a purpose. I learnt about Princess Esther and that she stopped Haman (Booooo!) from killing all the Jewish people. I told jokes. One community member played the trumpet very well, and another sang a song from The Snowman, and it was amazing! A third community member did great dancing with a video of the Purim story. There was a funny story, music and a poem from the grown ups. I liked the Hamantaschen except pistachio. I had a great time!
