3CLJC is a small but busy community with something for everyone. Our activities include religious services, cultural events, social gatherings and learning opportunities for all ages. Our six monthly newsletter features articles by members about recent community events and matters of local Jewish interest.
Shabbat, Festivals and Social Events
3CLJC holds one Friday night service each month and one Saturday morning Torah service. We celebrate the festivals with High Holy Day services, Chanukah and Purim parties, a Passover Seder and much more. Our events take place in the various locations in the three counties area and are suitable for all ages.
Our calendar also includes social opportunities to catch up with other Jewish people in the area – including shared meals after services, monthly daytime socials, picnics, concerts and a weekend away!
Visitors are always welcome at our services, festival celebrations and social events so please contact us if you would like to come along. Full details of forthcoming events can be found in the calendar.
It is never too late to learn more about your Jewish heritage. 3CLJC runs an adult ‘Learning Circle’ that offers Hebrew lessons and Jewish learning for all levels and backgrounds. The Learning Circle is open to all members and is also suitable for those wishing to convert to Liberal Judaism.
Please contact us if would like more information about joining the Learning Circle.
Baby blessings take place during Shabbat morning service and are a beautiful opportunity to share your joy with your friends and family as well as the wider community.
Our Bar/Bat Mitzvah programme combines study days, independent learning and personal tuition. The students learn to read from the Torah and take their place as full members of 3CLJC and responsible young adults.
For members of Liberal Judaism communities, our Rabbi officiates at Jewish weddings and Jewish blessing ceremonies for mixed faith couples.
3CLJC arranges Jewish funerals (burial or cremation), led by our Rabbi or a lay leader. We have use of a consecrated Jewish plot at Cheltenham Cemetery where non-Jewish partners can also be buried.
Please contact us if you would like to find out more about marking a life cycle event at 3CLJC.
Cheder (ages 3-16)
Our informal Cheder offers Jewish learning for ages 3-16 through fun and engaging projects. We meet once a fortnight and cater for children with all levels of Jewish knowledge and experience.
Please contact us to find out more about Cheder at 3CLJC.
